IFSH is strategically located in the Chicago region, one of the world’s top cities for the food and beverage industry. We are a world-class food science research institute that produces knowledge-based outcomes in the areas of food safety, food defense, food processing and nutrition as a consortium between academia, government, and industry.
In 1988, the US FDA established the first center of excellence at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ through the grant funded National Center for Food Safety and Technology. As an institute, IFSH has been listed as a top think tank for Food Security issues in the (2019).
