Accessible Parking

Parking Lots

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ students, faculty, staff or affiliates that wish to utilize parking spaces designated for persons with a disability must have a registered university parking permit and display a related state issued placard or license plate.

Blue Permit Parking

Blue Permit parking spaces have been established to accommodate students, faculty, and staff with an impairment requiring access to buildings closer than permit lots. Spaces are available next to the following Mies Campus buildings.

  • Galvin Tower
  • Tech Central
  • Siegel Hall
  • Perlstein Hall
  • Pritzker Science Center

Please note that issuance of a Blue Permit is subject to having a handicapped placard with the state. For those without a placard requesting an accommodation, approval is required by the Center for Disability Resources for students and by Human Resources for faculty and staff, in coordination with Campus Business Services.

Issuance of a Blue Permit does not guarantee a reserved parking space for any individual. The Blue Permit grants access to utilize designated spaces on a first-come-first served basis. Overflow accessible parking is available in the nearest parking lots.

Visitors

Visitors displaying a valid state-issued handicap placard may park in both designated accessible spaces and general visitor parking spaces. Please note that mobile payment is still required when parking in visitor areas.

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ students, employees, and tenants with a valid state-issued handicap placard may also park in visitor lots to allow for closer proximity to campus facilities. A paid ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ parking permit is still required.
