Through this partnership, qualified Elgin Community College students can secure guaranteed admission to ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ in advance, while still completing their associate’s degrees.
Dedicated Support from ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Transfer Admission Counselors
Through this program, Elgin Community College students will receive individualized support from an ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ transfer admission counselor. Our counselors will guide students throughout the transfer process and help them plan their course selection at both Elgin Community College and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳.
Discounted Courses at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ that Earn Credit Toward Your Bachelor’s Degree
Under this guaranteed admission program, students may be enrolled in both institutions at the same time. Prospective ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ applicants may take ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ non-degree courses while they are enrolled at Elgin Community College prior to their transfer. Elgin Community College students who have enrolled in the guaranteed admission program can take these courses at a discounted price that is 10 percent of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳’s tuition rate per credit hour.
ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ guarantees the minimum Transfer Tuition Scholarship of $25,000 (prorated for part-time students) to students who are successfully admitted to ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ through the guaranteed admission program. This scholarship will remain in effect each year automatically until the student completes their undergraduate degree. It will continue for any student who also applies and is admitted to ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳’s Accelerated Master’s Program. The scholarship will be applied on a prorated basis for any summer term or in any semester in which the student enrolls at part-time status. Students must maintain the minimum academic standards to continue to receive this award.
To be eligible for the guaranteed admission program, Elgin Community College students must:
- Submit the and schedule and attend an appointment with their ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ admission counselor, which also serves as an orientation session
- Meet with their ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ admission counselor once per semester while at Elgin Community College
- Earn a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application and continue to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 upon graduation from Elgin Community College through the student’s final term
- Achieve grades of B or higher in ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ courses and in any technical coursework required by the major
- Successfully complete an associate’s degree program or opt to earn an associate’s degree via reverse transfer of credits from ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳. As part of this process, students must:
- Earn a minimum of 30 credit hours before transferring
- Fulfill the prerequisites for the chosen program and be duly admitted through a transfer admission process
- Be an active participant in the pathway program for at least one year before transferring and be in good standing at Elgin Community College at the time of transfer
Students who attend Elgin Community College and do not meet these requirements are still encouraged to apply as they may be admissible through the regular admission process. Elgin Community College students are encouraged to set up an appointment with a transfer admission counselor at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ to have an individualized conversation about admissibility requirements for their major of choice.
